Greetings to all and thanks for your continued support. Now with our economy nose-diving and sales fewer and further between it’s time to take an accounting of what we all have. Knowing that golf plays an important part in most of our lives lets just try and be a bit more selective and sure that the equipment we play really does help us play better golf.

I also want to share a lesson I learned: My children are 19 and 21. My oldest boy is already and an accomplished golfer with a love for the game. My daughter is the natural athlete of the family and has a beautiful golf swing. That’s where it ends. After playing 3 years of high school golf my daughter refused to play as a senior. She had so much talent but just did not care. Recently I found out why and I want to pass this along to other parents who may be struggling. If I had only known this earlier. Well, she just told me after we played in an 18 hole scramble that this was the most fun she ever had on a course. That was a shock for me to hear! She just did not care for the competition, the rules and the score keeping high school golf presented. If I had only known then what I know now. What a different playing scramble golf with your kids makes.

So get out with your kids and play scramble golf. Everyone hits and then one of you can pick a shot to play your next from. This way the juniors get to play the entire course with no real pressure on them for scoring, get to hit all the shots, and you get to spend some great time with them doing it. Buy them a hot dog and a coke at the turn and establish a lasting family tradition, and a fun way to get involved in this ‘game of a lifetime".
